work for us, he wasn’t precise enough. So you get 
Marowitz, you get a number of other scholars 
looking at the contemporary changes; a kind of 
study that McLuhan in many respects made quite 
popular. But you also get something else 
happening. As we move on from that television 
period, where McLuhan’s great celebrity came 
from—as we move on into something quite 
different, where we can see that television itself 
isn’t circled by electronic technologies, we now 
think television may just become content delivered
